Discovering, Understanding and Doing
A solid learning process takes learners where they are, guides them to discover what is true, helps them understand it, and then challenges them to do something in response.
This process for young learners happens most appropriately in three steps. Children can explore the theme, learn a Bible story or concept, and respond in age-appropriate ways.
For Preschool and Pre-K & K, the three-step process can be more structured.
- Getting Started (a variety of activities to help teachers guide children to explore the theme)
- Bible Discovery (active participation in the Bible story, plus review and Bible memory activities)
- Grow and Go (activities to help children explore what the Bible story means for them and how to respond in ways appropriate to children ages 3-6)
